First off, went to a great meet and greet with Denyse Schmidt last Friday hosted by Bolt and Modern Domestic and walked away with this lovely bundle of Hope Valley- including a sewing card for time on MD's Berninas. Woo hoo!
Did some painting yesterday with my son- inspired by a painting seen at The New Domestic.
(Even painted the sides to be cool.)
Made this quilt top (in the last 2 days) for my sister-in-law, having a baby next month. Got the idea and paper airplane template (enlarged here) from Michael Miller's blog, Making it Fun. It is made from the Sugar Creek line from Denyse Schmidt for Joann's.
The reverse of my son's quilt. I pieced the letters and then used a Kona charcoal with yardage left over from Curious Nature.
An official picture of the Curious Nature Hexies quilt- with my son's first cameo. He loves this quilt! It is all basted but maybe not finally done- hoping to start quilting this weekend.
My final non-sewing project of the last 2 weeks- painted the top and sides of an unfinished dresser for my son's new room. Matches his bookcase!

Love the colors in your Hope Valley. AND the paper airplain on a quilt. Wouldn't that make a wonderful mobile?
ReplyDeleteLove that airplane quilt, and how great was it to meet a designer?! Cool!
